Best-selling author Colleen Hoover has shared an encouraging update regarding her health after being diagnosed with cancer. The 46-year-old writer, known for her popular novels 'It Ends With Us' and 'Reminders of Him', revealed on Instagram that she has nearly completed her radiation therapy and that her initial surgery has been deemed successful.

Hoover posted a selfie from the hospital in a gown, expressing her gratitude to Texas Oncology, where she has been receiving treatment. 'I'm doing much better. My cancer diagnosis was a while ago but I chose to keep it private until after finding out my surgery was successful,' she stated.

In a private Facebook chat earlier, Hoover informed her fans that the cancer had been removed, asserting, 'I'm okay'. Reflecting on her health issues throughout 2025, she noted that she postponed seeking medical attention to focus on the filming of the adaptation of 'Reminders of Him' in Canada, which she completed before receiving her cancer diagnosis upon returning home. 'It felt huge and scary for a bit. I missed important career and personal moments because I wasn't ready to share until I knew the outcome,' she explained.

'Huge and scary'

Hoover described her diagnosis as a considerable challenge and mentioned that her cancer might be linked to lifestyle factors such as poor diet and stress. In a candid moment, she humorously expressed her disdain for vegetables and exercising, adding, 'I'm happy and grateful to be alive but I hate when science is right.'

'I'm a badass'

In her recent Instagram update, which coincided with the release of her latest novel 'Woman Down', Hoover confirmed that her health struggles were genuine and not a publicity stunt for her book's launch. She stated, 'Not because I'm lying about anything, but because I'm a badass.' Despite her health concerns, she surprised fans at a midnight release event for her new book in South Carolina shortly after undergoing radiation treatment.

Colleen Hoover's journey serves as an inspiring tale of resilience, reminding her fans and readers that positivity and strength can prevail even in the face of daunting health challenges.
