Controversial online personality Andrew Tate has been released from house arrest by a Romanian court as his ongoing criminal case develops, according to a spokesperson. Instead of house arrest, Tate is now under judicial control, which permits him to move throughout Romania but requires adherence to specific legal conditions.

The 38-year-old, alongside his brother Tristan, faces serious accusations including human trafficking of minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, and money laundering. Both brothers have vocally denied these allegations, emphasizing their intention to cooperate fully with the legal process.

Tate had been under house arrest since August, following a new wave of investigations launched by prosecutors involving himself, Tristan, and four additional suspects. Initial allegations against the brothers pertained to forming an organized group to sexually exploit women, a case that was previously returned to prosecutors by Bucharest's Court of Appeals for procedural issues.

In addition to the allegations in Romania, the Tate brothers are also facing accusations of human trafficking and rape in the UK, where authorities are pursuing an extradition request for both men. However, a Romanian judge has indicated that handling the extradition will occur only once legal proceedings in Romania have concluded.

Additionally, Andrew and Tristan Tate are embroiled in accusations of tax evasion in the UK, with a recent court ruling allowing police to seize over £2 million (approximately $2.4 million) from them due to unpaid taxes linked to £21 million in revenues from their online enterprises. Tate has dismissed this ruling as "not justice" and refers to it as part of a "coordinated attack" against him.

The self-proclaimed misogynist and former kickboxing champion has been a figure of controversy, with a history of being banned from various social media platforms for his extreme views. With millions of followers online, Tate has predominantly resided in Romania after previously living in the UK, making him a significant topic of interest in discussions surrounding legal and social issues.
