Harry and Meghan Confirm New Long-Term Netflix Partnership
Duke and Duchess of Sussex extend their collaboration with Netflix, promising fresh content and engaging storytelling.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially confirmed the extension of their collaboration with Netflix, describing it as a "multi-year, first look deal." This agreement allows Netflix to have the first option on any proposals coming from the couple's Archewell production company. This shift represents a more flexible arrangement compared to their initial deal and debunks speculations about a full split between the Sussexes and the streaming giant.
Meghan expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating they aim to produce "thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally and celebrates our shared vision." The couple's Netflix journey began in 2020 with a deal reportedly worth $100 million (£75 million).
This announcement arrives as anticipation builds for the second series of Meghan's cooking show, "With Love, Meghan," set to debut later this month. Initial audience figures revealed that the first series did not make it into the top 300 Netflix shows during the first half of 2025, drawing only 5.3 million views, significantly overshadowed by Netflix’s top program, "Adolescence," which amassed 145 million views in the same timeframe.
However, a previous documentary, "Harry & Meghan," which detailed their departure from royal duties, witnessed a much better reception, garnering 23.4 million views shortly after its December 2022 launch.
In addition, Archewell announced a special holiday edition of "With Love, Meghan," inviting fans to join Meghan for a festive celebration in Montecito. The lifestyle series has also given rise to a food and beverage line named As Ever, featuring rosé wine and artisanal jams.
Looking ahead, the couple is set to produce "Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within," a documentary focusing on an orphanage in Uganda that serves as a beacon of hope amidst the struggles of the HIV/Aids crisis. Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, remarked on the significance of Harry and Meghan's narratives, indicating that their stories resonate widely and have established a strong connection with audiences.
As the royal couple continues to delve into storytelling through Netflix, the world watches closely to see how their vision unfolds on the streaming platform.
