Tragic Loss: Ten Firefighters Perish in Turkey's Wildfires

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a significant wildfire in the Seyitgazi district of Turkey's Eskisehir province claimed the lives of ten dedicated forestry and rescue workers. According to Turkey's Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli, the tragic incident occurred when strong winds altered the fire’s direction, leaving 24 workers and volunteers trapped. The deceased comprised five forestry workers and five members of the AKUT rescue organization, while 14 others sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The wildfire erupted early on Tuesday and has since spread to other areas in the region.
